We started Relaxayvoo aware of the necessity of a good night’s sleep to perform better in all aspects of our lives. Sleep had to be our focus to improve overall health and well-being.

Benefits for the body and mind

It is during sleep, that the body repairs and regenerates tissues, strengthens the immune system, and consolidates memories.

Sleep also plays a crucial role in regulating hormones, gives you better cognitive function, including improved concentration, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.

So making sure we get enough high-quality sleep is top priority to feeling able to take on the day.

How best to prepare for a good night’s sleep?

By establishing a sleep routine you are already 60% there!

Going to bed and waking up at the same time every day teaches the body the sleep-wake cycle. So it is easier for the body to switch from one state to the other. For some people going to bed with the sun (or at least a few hours after sunset – especially during winter time in London ) works well.  Have you seen ‘Insomnia’ ? The main character is finding it very complicated to adapt in an environment with day light during the night.

When establishing a sleep routine, see what works best for your lifestyle. It’s not one size fits all.

Creating a relaxing bedtime ritual, a warm bath, a herbal tea, using Relaxayvoo night face oil or body oil with relaxing scents. Just prepare for bedtime the same way you prepare to go out! The body has worked hard it is time to rest.

The bedroom: a sacred place.

Make sure it is cool, quiet, dark and that you have the perfect supportive mattress and pillows. Consciously prepare your environment. Unplug electrics, computer, TV, phone on airplane mode.  We are constantly disturbed during our busy day so now is the moment to disconnect and switch everything off.  You deserve it and your body will thank you for it.

The last meal of the day: Ideally at least 2-3 hours before bedtime. And if you are peckish before bed opt for a light, healthy snack rather than raiding the cupboards!

Having an exercise routine, looking after our diet and finding ways to reduce our stress all sound like familiar messages but perhaps if we try a little harder we might fall into the arms of Morpheus right away.👌
