Water

Water: a living substance?

The most common and least understood. It defies the basic laws of physics, yet holds the keys to life. Known to ancients as a transmitter to and from the higher realms, water retains memory. However, water can die if treated poorly. Influences such as sound, thoughts, intention, and prayer, as well as toxins such as chlorine, structure water’s molecular arrangement– affecting all it comes in contact with.

Water’s properties

71 per cent of our ‘Blue planet’ is covered in water. It can be found in streams, rivers and lakes. It’s in the air and underground. It is the glaciers, rain and snow. And it’s in our food, plants and bodies.  Water flows through us and connects us all possessing indispensable properties vital for sustaining life.

  • It serves as a universal solvent, facilitating various biological and chemical reactions crucial for existence. Its capacity to absorb and retain substantial heat ensures the stabilization of Earth's temperature and the moderation of climate patterns.

  • In its liquid form, water exhibits a rare characteristic of being denser than when solid, allowing ice to float and insulate the underlying liquid, thus fostering aquatic ecosystems in cold conditions.

  • Moreover, its high heat of vaporization enables efficient cooling mechanisms within living organisms and contributes to maintaining stable surface temperatures on our planet.

  • Additionally, water maintains a neutral pH level of 7, neither acidic nor basic, ensuring compatibility with biological systems and supporting life processes.

The elixir of life

Water makes up around 70% of an adult body….it flows through us and connects us all, protecting our organs, delivering essential nutrients to cells, lubricating joints, and cultivating vital energy. Our body depends on water to survive. Every cell, tissue, and organ in our body needs water to function. For instance, water maintains our body temperature, removes waste, lubricates our joints as well as conserving the vitality of our skin. Our health and well-being depend on this fundamental element of nature.

Hydration From Within

Although good hydration is important for overall health, hydration is also the cornerstone of any effective skincare routine. Our skin being our body's largest organ, requires adequate hydration to function optimally. Water helps maintain the skin's moisture balance; keeping it soft, supple, and resilient. When the skin is well-hydrated, it appears more plump, youthful, and radiant.

A couple of habits to help you stay hydrated in your day to day life:

• Drinking the right amount of water for you - an easy rule is to divide your body weight in half and aim to drink that many ounces of water each day.

• Keeping a bottle of water with you throughout the day

• Setting an alarm to drink water

• Moderating caffeine or alcohol intake as they tend to dehydrate you

• Adding flavour to you drink if the taste of water isn’t really your thing...

Lemon Water

Lemons are to be trusted. They have been growing for 8 millions years and can be used in many ways. Lemon water offers an ideal method to refresh, cleanse, and invigorate your body each morning. Water from the tap or a bottle loses its natural vitality and structure over time. By infusing it with freshly squeezed lemon juice, you reinvigorate the water, allowing it to penetrate deeper into your tissues and cells, facilitating the transport of vital nutrients and compounds necessary for optimal health.

Squeeze in 1/2 a Lemon in two cups of water and drink first thing int he morning of throughout the day

Lemon water boasts a rich array of vitamins and minerals, including vitamins C and B, calcium, and magnesium. Its benefits range from weight management to immune support, aiding digestion, and even promoting cardiovascular health. Incorporating it into your morning routine can provide a refreshing burst of hydration, sharpening focus and boosting energy levels throughout the day. Moreover, lemon-lime water aids in breaking down gallbladder sediment and stones while promoting liver function and reducing acid reflux.

How to keep your skin moisturized and healthy?

By choosing the appropriate skincare products, within which you should opt for gentle, hydrating cleansers and moisturizers and look for ingredients which help attract and retain moisture. Certain oils like Prickly pear seed oil which you can find in our Night Face Oil or Inca inchi included in our Day Serum do exactly that!

Additionally, try to avoid hot showers, as they can strip the skin of its natural oils. Instead, opt for lukewarm water and limit shower time to 10-15 minutes.

Ensure to protect your skin by wearing sunscreen daily to shield it from the harmful effects of UV radiation.

Adopt healthy eating habits, specifically aiming to consume foods rich in water content, such as fruits and vegetables. Foods high in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins A, C, and E can also support skin health.
